Međunarodni Dan Izbeglica obeležava se svake godine 20-og Juna. U okviru nedelje posvećene izbeglicama i raseljenim licima, Forum za razvoj i multietničku saradnju, partnerska organizacija UNHCR-a, zajedno sa šefom misije UNHCR-a, Ministrom za zajednice i povratak, UN koordinatorom za razvoj, EU, UNMIK-om, OSCE-om, AT-om, DRC-om, i predsednikom opštine Leposavić, obišli su danas Kolektivni centar „Samački dom“ u Lešku, opština Leposavić, i tom prilikom porazgovarali sa korisnicima ovog centra.
Ovom prilikom posećena je i lokacija na kojoj će u skorijem periodu započeti izgradnja stanova za izbeglice i raseljena lica koja trenutno žive u kolektivnim centrima u opštini Leposavić, i time će, nakon 20 godina, zvanično biti zatvoreni kolektivni smeštaji u ovoj opštini.
Šef misije UNHCR-a na Kosovu, gdin. Erol Arduc naglasio je da ova započeta inicijativa daje nadu da će u narednih godinu dana, porodicama koje trenutno žive u kolektivnim centrima, biti obezbeđeni bolji životni uslovi, što i jeste konačni cilj UNHCR-a. Tokom današnje posete istaknuto je da će se zajedničkim snagama i partnerstvom pronaći rešenja za probleme izbeglica u opštinama na severu Kosova, a koja vode ka zbrinjavanju izbeglica i zatvaranju kolektivnih centara. Kao što i glasi tema ovogodišnjeg Dana Izbeglica “Zajedno možemo postići sve. Zajedno lečimo, učimo i blistamo. “
World Refugee Day is celebrated every year on June 20th. As part of the week dedicated to refugees and displaced persons, Forum for Development and Multiethnic Collaboration, UNHCR partner organization, together with the UNHCR Chief of Mission, the Minister for Communities and Returns, UN Development Coordinator, EU, UNMIK, OSCE, AT, DRC and Mayor of the Leposavić/Leposaviq Municipality, visited today the Collective Shelter “Samacki dom” in Lešak/Leshak, Leposavić/Leposaviq municipality, and on that occasion talked with displaced persons accommodated in this Collective Shelter.
On this occasion, the location where the construction of apartments for refugees and displaced persons that are currently living in Collective Shelters in the Leposavić/Leposaviq municipality, which construction is expected to start soon, was also visited. And thus, after 20 years, Collective Shelters in this municipality will be officially closed.
UNHCR Chief of Mission in Kosovo, Mr. Erol Arduc emphasized that this initiative gives hope that in the next year, families currently living in Collective Shelters will be provided with better living conditions, which is the ultimate goal of the UNHCR. During today’s visit, it was pointed out that joint efforts and partnership will result in finding solutions to the problems of refugees and displaced persons in the municipalities in the Kosovo North region, leading to the closure of Collective Shelters.
